“Major Dr. M. Venkataramanan Endowment Lecture – 2026”

Instituted in honour of an Eminent Educationist, Economist & NCC Officer.

The theme of the lecture was:

“Global Perspectives of Indian Economy – Aspirations for Viksit Bharat @2047.”

The lecture focused on exploring India’s position in the global economic landscape and examining the strategic aspirations and policy directions required to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

👤 About Major Dr. M. Venkataramanan

Major Dr. M. Venkataramanan served as Principal and Head of the Postgraduate & Research Department of Economics, as well as the Departments of Economics and Business Economics (Shift II).

During his tenure as Principal, he:

🔹 Introduced new academic programmes
🔹 Secured autonomous extension for the institution
🔹 Elevated the institution to the status of College with Potential for Excellence
🔹 Successfully trained three cadets who became All India Best NCC Cadets

In recognition of his contributions to education, he received the “My Guru – Best Teacher Award” (2012).
He also served as a Member of the Syndicate at the University of Madras.

At present, he serves as Dean at St. Peter’s Higher Education Institution, Chennai.
